Jeff Kraayeveld (Rebound)
You can read Jeff’s bio by clicking on his name above. Jeff combines his clinical knowledge of physiology with his personal experience as a pitcher to help correct poor mechanics that can lead to serious and long term injury. Jeff also uses video analysis technology for immediate visual feedback.
Video Analysis The ability to capture movement and technique and then analyze it frame by frame on a computer screen or tablet is on of the best tools available to us…next to a quality coach. A majority of non-impact baseball injuries that occur can be dramatically mitigated or prevented all together when poor mechanics and mobility issues are identified and corrected at an early age. Many of these injuries can also be attributed to dysfunctions that began early in a youth’s baseball career. We recommend once a player has been taught the basics of throwing and hitting, that they have a video analysis performed so they and their coach can see what mechanical issues can be addressed in practices and during the off-season. Quite often, mechanical corrections cannot be made successfully if there are existing mobility or movement issues that hinder proper technique. We recommend a “movement screen” in addition to a video analysis so we can help coaches identify why an athlete may be having trouble with specific skill.
This video was captured and analyzed by former University of Portland coach Chris Sperry.
Contact HORIZON SPORTS to setup a movement and skill capture session. We will work with a skills professional to have the video analyzed and sent directly to your computer.
